WHO gives thumbs up for eLearning

eLearning is likely to be as effective as traditional methods for training health professionals, concludes research commissioned by the World Health Organisation. The analysis of 108 studies showed that students acquired knowledge and skills though online and offline learning as well or better than they do through traditional teaching. Thankfully the researchers note that eLearning cannot replace the practical skills required by doctors and nurses, and suggest both methods of teaching should be combined.
