The TSANZ has appointed a President elect and several new members to its board.

In an online election that saw double the number of members voting since the last ballot in 2015 Professor Allan Glanville was voted in to replace current incumbent Peter Gibson when he steps aside next year.

Professor Glanville is an internationally renowned transplant expert and Director of Thoracic Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney.

He sits on the editorial board of several leading international journals, has authored over 190 publications and was senior author of the 2015 ISHLT Consensus guidelines for lung transplantation.

Professor David Fielding, Professor Bruce Thompson and Professor Hubertus Jersmann have also been appointed members of the TSANZ Board.

They will replace outgoing members Professor David Langton, Professor Richard Wood-Baker, Professor Matthew Peters and Dr Jane Bourke.
