Respiratory specialists recognised in the 2020 Australia Day honours

NSW respiratory physician Dr Hazel Goldberg has been recognised in the 2020 Australia Day honours with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to respiratory medicine.

Dr Goldberg is cited on the Honours list for her work in relation to tuberculosis research including prevention and management. She is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, and the Australian Respiratory Council.

Also recognised in the Honours List with an OAM is thoracic surgeon Mr Phillip Antippa, Head, Thoracic Surgical Service, Royal Melbourne Hospital, for his work with lung cancer and also for services to music. He is a Founding Member, Australian Doctors Orchestra.
