One of three prestigious research grants worth €50,000 could be yours for the taking. We just jumped on to Xe.com and that equates to almost $79,000 Australian dollars.

The ERS Gold Medals recognise excellence in asthma, COPD and ILD research and are open to researchers from anywhere in the world, and to both members and non-members of ERS. The only restriction appears to be that you need to be under 55 to apply.

The applicants will be judged on achievements throughout their career and the quality of their current or planned research project.

Applications are open until 28 February, 2016 and you can apply yourself or nominate a colleague. The award winner will be announced at the 2016 ERS International Congress in London (3-7 September 2016) during the Opening Ceremony.
