COPD patients falling down

COPD

29 Jul 2015

Up to 40% of patients with COPD experience falls, with more than 75% of patients falling multiple times, a study from Melbourne finds.

The preliminary study that followed 41 patients with stable COPD for a year found factors linked with an increased risk of falling included smoking, having other illnesses, taking multiple medications, having a fear of falling, and falling in the past.

The study is published in the latest edition of Respirology.
