Almost half of the paediatric randomised trials listed on a US trial registry site between 2008 to 2010 were either not completed or published, researchers report.
The study published in Pediatrics found that the randomised trials listed on the ClinicalTrials.gov were most likely to be discontinued because of difficulty recruiting patients, technical and logistical problems, changes in standard of care, safety and efficacy findings, and company or business decisions.
