The Gold Coast will be the ‘heart’ of cardiology in Australia and New Zealand this week when the CSANZ 2022  Annual Scientific Meeting begins on Friday 11th August.

In 2022 the meeting will be an in-person event with an overall program theme of Heart Health For All.

The 2022 meeting will feature presentations from local and international speakers including heart failure expert Professor Stefan Anker from Germany, arrythmia specialist Professor Sabine Ernst from London talking about the latest advances in catheter ablation, and the UK’s Prof Vinayek Bapat will deliver the Victor Chang Memorial Lecture on Impact of TAVR on current and future therapies.

Prof Gemma Figtree of the University of Sydney will deliver the Gaston Bauer Lecture on “SMuRF-less” coronary artery disease: Clinical features, outcomes and unmet needs

From the Netherlands, former European Society of Cardiology (ESC) president Professor Jeroen Bax will discuss the latest advances in cardiac imaging research.

And from the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Professor Michael Ackerman will deliver the RT Hall Lecture on athletes with sudden cardiac death predisposing genetic heart diseases:.

The Kempson Maddox Lecture will feature Auckland cardiologist Prof Ralph Stewart discussing why clinical trials need to adapt to improve healthcare. It will be followed by the presentation of the prestigious Ralph Reader prizes for clinical research.
