A Melbourne artist has claimed responsibility for placing a McDonalds sign in the Simpson Desert Conservation Park.
The large prank sign was erected in the dead of night after about 12 months of planning, the anonymous artist told the ABC.
He says he is now considering producing another desert-based installation, perhaps a fake speed camera, along the same remote track.
