Sugar worse than salt

Dietary guidelines need to focus less on salt and more on added sugar in the fight against cardiovascular disease. The evidence is compelling and implicates sugars, particularly fructose, as playing a major role in the development of hypertension the experts say in a Heart editorial. However experts have weighed into the debate saying reducing salt intake is equally important.
