What’s turning the Taj Mahal green?

Swarms of insects breeding in a polluted river near the Taj Mahal are leaving green and black patches of waste on its walls.

Workers were scrubbing the walls every day but have since stopped for fear of damaging the intricate floral mosaics and marble surface.
