New biomarkers could pinpoint RA patients

New blood biomarkers may help pinpoint RA patients at risk of interstitial lung disease. Elevated levels of IP10 and MMP-7 strongly correlated with the presence of RA-IL, even after adjusting for confounders like age and gender. Further studies were needed to see if the biomarkers could help clinicians to pinpoint patients most likely to develop progressive fibrosis, the researchers from Xiamen in China concluded.
