Acne related skeletal hypertosis

Australian doctors have reported a case of skeletal hypertosis caused by a common treatment for severe acne. The 29-year-old male reported with non-inflammatory back pain with a past history of isotretinoin therapy. It is important for rheumatologists to be aware of this phenomenon when assessing young patients with musculoskeletal symptoms and evidence of radiological abnormalities, the doctors including Sam Whittle from South Australia say.
