ACR 2020 will be a virtual meeting

15 Jun 2020

The world’s largest rheumatology conference is going virtual and taking on a new appearance in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The American College of Rheumatology’s 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) originally scheduled to be held November 6-11 in Washington, D.C., will now be a fully virtual meeting.

Named the “ACR Convergence 2020” the virtual rheumatology meeting will take place online, from 5-9 November with all content recorded and made available on demand for several months.

According to the ACR the meeting will still include opportunities for interaction and developing new contacts and collaborations as well as having educational and research findings presentations.

The planning committee says it will release more details of the format in weeks to come. The virtual program is being finalised and will be available on the ACR website in July.

“Now, more than ever, the rheumatology community needs to maintain connection. ACR Convergence 2020 provides an opportunity to do just that,” the ACR says.

“We’ve given the ACR’s annual meeting a new name and a fresh look, and reimagined #ACR20 without losing the elements you care about most: stellar rheumatology education and outstanding networking opportunities.”
