Patient perceptions relevant in clinical practice

Patient perceived changes in their respiratory health could be used in clinical practice to assess the overall disease trajectory, researchers say. Asthma patients were more likely to perceive a change, particularly those with persistent asthma. Perceived deterioration was related to poorer asthma control 7 years later and to higher use of oral corticosteroids in the following 18 months.
