Gastroenterology a ‘lucrative’ career choice

Gastroenterology is stressful but lucrative career choice according to a report by Salary Voice.

The report acknowledges that the pay packet of gastroenterologists varies broadly between countries, however US specialists were paid more compared to Australians and Canadians.

For example a US gastroenterologist with with four years of experience earned approximately $348,010 per year. In Australia, gastroenterologists were paid an annual average income of AUD$120,000 also this figure did not include income from procedures or tests or from private practice.

In Canada, the average yearly salary for a gastroenterologist was $208,800 whereas a UK salary varied based on age and experience of the gastroenterologist — from £56,973 for a physician in their 20s to around £88,118 for a physician in their 40s and 50s.
