Melbourne endocrinologist Professor David O’Neal has received the 2019 Diabetes Victoria Outstanding Contribution Award for his work with people with diabetes”Professor O’Neal was honoured for his outstanding contribution to diabetes clinical care; diabetes research; and the assessment of technologies to assist people living with diabetes,” said Diabetes Victoria CEO Craig Bennett on presenting the award at their 2019 Annual General Meeting on Monday

Professor O’Neal is a Senior Endocrinologist at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne and a Clinical Director of Internal Medicine, Subacute and Palliative Care Services at Mercy Public Hospitals.

He has been involved in development and trialling of hybrid closed loop insulin pump systems in Australia, and also has a research interest in lipid profiles and cardiometabolic risks in people with diabetes.
