Chronic heart failure drug on PBS

16 May 2017

The angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitor sacubitril/valsartanfor (Entresto) will be available on the PBS from 1 June for adults with chronic heart failure (NYHA Class II-IV) with reduced ejection fraction.

Minister for Health Greg Hunt, MP, said the listing would benefit more than 60,000 Australians every year who currently pay around $2,000 per year for their prescriptions.

Concessional patients will now pay around $6.30 per script and non-concessional patients will pay $38.80.
