Legit patients driving rise in oxycodone deaths


Patients with legitimate prescriptions for pain relief are driving the big rise in oxycodone-related deaths. Deaths linked to the prescription-only opioid have risen almost seven-fold over a decade, with a 562% increase in oxycodone supply across Australia. Doctor shoppers had been merely a red-herring, researchers from Monash report.
