Doctor rating site using AHPRA details without permission

A new website that allows patients to anonymously rate doctors is using its records without permission, AHPRA says.

Concerns about the doctorinspector website have been raised by several registered health practitioners, the agency says.

However AHPRA has not given the website permission to use information from its the public registers.

The website operators appear to have used technology known as screen scraping to automatically pull information from the public online register and republish it in a different context, the agency said.

Martin Fletcher, CEO of AHPRA said the issue does not reflect in any way on the security and integrity of the confidential data held in the National Scheme.

An AHPRA spokesperson was unable to comment on whether healthcare professionals whose details appear on the site could ask to be removed.
